The American Theatre Wing has announced the recipients of the 2024 Jonathan Larson Grants, and every single winner is an alumni of our programs! Heartiest congratulations to Shannon Burkett, Heather Christian, Kate Douglas, Joriah Kwamé, Dylan MarcAurele, Cheeyang Ng, and Eric Sorrels!
In addition to the grant prize, the recipients will be honored with two showcases of their work on March 31st at Joe’s Pub in Manhattan: a 6:30 p.m. invitation-only presentation and a 9:00 p.m. showing open to the public.
Kate Douglas attended the 2017 Writers Grove at Goodspeed Musicals, Cheeyang and Eric attended in 2022, Joriah in 2023, Dylan and Cheeyang (again for a different project) in 2024, and most recently Shannon and Heather were in residence at our 2025 Writers Grove. Additionally, Cheeyang and Eric also joined us for our 2019 Songwriters Project program, and Joriah attended with the 2020 cohort.
